My recently completed piece for the Brandon C. Gromada Head and Neck Cancer Foundation to help raise a few bucks in an upcoming fundraising auction. The goal of the foundation is to generate funds for the development of innovative and more effective treatments which lead to cures for head and neck cancers, most of which are some type of squamous cell cancer (SCC).
This piece itself, as yet untitled, is constructed of cloth, plaster, wire, “Durabond 90”, and acrylics. The web pattern implies the metal mask a patient wears during radiation treatments for head & neck cancer.
“They are not long, the days of wine and roses. Out of a misty dream, our path emerges for a while, then closes, within a dream.” ~ Ernest Dowson The Poems and Prose of Ernest Dowson Wishing you all the very best of weekends!
“Experience is never limited, and it is never complete; it is an immense sensibility, a kind of huge spider-web of the finest silken threads suspended in the chamber of consciousness, and catching every air-borne particle in its tissue.” ~ Henry James
“The simple secret of happiness. Whatever you are doing, don’t let the past move your mind; don’t let future disturb you. Because the past is no more, and the future is not yet. To live in the memories, to live in the imagination, is to live in the non-existential. And when you are living in the non-existential, you are missing that which is existential. Naturally you will be miserable, because you will miss your whole life.” ~ Osho
